You can even camp there and swim in the nearby waters. What can you expect from Creekside Offroad Ranch?

Creekside Offroad Ranch, in Splendora Texas, is well-known for its difficult off-road trails that are full of sand and water as well as mud.

This 350-acre park is accessed via Peach Creek. It adds to the difficulty of the trails, making it ideal for ATVs, dirt bikes, and Jeeps.

This off-road mudding park in Splendora TX, despite its small trail, has been a popular choice for legal wheeling in Houston.

The area is both welcoming and challenging depending on how many rainfalls. The state’s proximity to major cities means that entry fees are affordable.

The best part is that guests love to get dirty and do one-handed waterwheels in the park.

Creekside Offroad Ranch Difficulty

From start to finish, the loop trail is 3.2 miles long (5.1 km). Although the entire trail isn’t too difficult, it can become a bit sloppy after heavy rains. It is possible to make a wrong turn onto the ATV or Jeep section of the trail as most tracks are not marked.

You should be aware that there are several deep grains of sand and/or mud puddles that can reach your hood. If you get stuck, it is a good idea to have someone with you.

Weather

This zone has a predictable weather pattern with the majority of the rain falling in June and very little in July.

You can enjoy the many mud puddles, watering holes, and other natural wonders of the park by planning your trip between May to June.

Splendora Texas is subject to significant seasonal variations in its monthly rainfall so these months might not be the best times to visit this park off-road in Texas. Weather forecasts can be found online.

Vehicle requirements

Creekside Ranch does not rent offroad ATVs in the park. You will need to bring your own vehicle. You don’t have to ride, but you can pay a small fee to watch and be a spectator.

Creekside doesn’t have any restrictions on off-road vehicles. It welcomes dirt bikes and trucks. As you’ll be riding in a private commercial park, there is no need for OHV permits.

Camping areas have a speed limit of 5 mph. Drivers should slow down in camping areas, and be mindful of small children who may be playing.

Drivers should use helmets when riding, regardless of their age, as a safety precaution. This is especially true for drivers who participate in competitions at the park.

Your tires will depend on how aggressively you like to play in the mud. All-terrain tires will work well for you if you don’t like to do a lot of mudding.

If you plan to ride in the mud, you will need a set of Nitto Trail Grappler mud tires for your four-wheeler. If you are riding an ATV/UTV, you should consider a 2-inch lift.

Mud pits can be quite deep during the season. Check the water levels at Peach Creek to make sure your vehicle is safe for riding in the mud.

Rates and sizes for groups

Creekside Offroad Ranch is not restricted to a certain group size, unlike state parks and national forests.

The owners can decide the maximum number of people the park can hold. It hosted an event that attracted over 10,000 people once!

Although the park hasn’t hosted such large numbers of guests in the past, many people still attend its mudflats and other events.

Entry costs $5 per person. Additional riders for vehicles are charged at the same rate. Children younger than six years of age are free to camp in the park.

The $20 riding fee includes one off-road vehicle, one rider, and $20 for the entire group. Tent camping costs $15 per night while RV camping costs $30. For $40, you can also get a weekend pass for primitive camping.

RV camping is currently not available for weekend passes, except during Mardi gras festivities.

Mardi Gras Mudfest

Creekside has been hosting Mardi Gras Mudfest since its inception. It takes place every first week of March. Visitors come from across Texas and beyond.

To participate, you must be at least 18 years of age. The weekend rate is $50 and includes ATV/UTV Bounty Hole and Truck Bounty Hole.

There will also be a concert featuring famous musicians and artists. The ranch features are specifically designed for ATV and Off-roading enthusiasts. There are miles of trails, dunes, and mud hills.

This event is a great opportunity to reserve RV camping. There are still primitive campgrounds available. However, the park will be crowded due to the large number of visitors.

This ATV trail in Texas is still available, but expect the park to be full during other popular events such as the annual Summer Showdown and Truck Tug Pad.

Customer feedback

Most people who visit the park give positive feedback on their riding experience and the way they manage it.

It is a superior park to those in Houston, even compared to Xtreme Off-Road Park or Beach. Creekside, like many parks, is not perfect.

Many of the suggestions made by patrons are mainly about cleanliness, which is mainly driven by visitors. Many guests complain about the lack of toilet paper and the insufficient trash bins at the campsite and in the swimming areas.

The trail conditions can also be a problem, especially if there is not enough rain. It becomes less exciting to ride and very dusty.

Park maintenance will always be difficult. It is up to the patrons to assist the owners on the off-roading trails they love.

Guidelines for Parks

They are extremely involved in maintaining the park and want everyone to have fun. They have created the following rules to ensure everyone follows them:

  • Every day that you are visiting the park, all visitors must sign the release form.
  • Under 18s must accompany a parent or guardian while on the premises.
  • In the parking and camping areas, wheelies, tricks, or stunts are not allowed, but they are permitted on the trail.
  • Owners strongly discourage riding double unless the SxS is being used. UTVs and ATVs should have only one rider. This is true for dirt bikes as well as motorcycles.
  • It is strictly forbidden to use drugs or any other illegal substances on the property. The premises also prohibit the use of firearms.
  • Only adults are allowed to drink alcohol in the park. Underage drinking is not allowed.
  • All trash must be placed in the trash cans around the park. You should not leave litter on the trails or on campfires.
  • Glass containers of all types are not allowed as they can cause injury to others or damage tires. Staff will confiscate glass containers at all times, particularly during events.
  • It is illegal to cut live trees for wood. There is plenty of deadwood available for bonfires and campfires. Bring firewood to ensure that trees are not disturbed in the park.
  • Park owners won’t tolerate fighting, vandalism, or theft.

Guests who violate any of these guidelines could be banned from the park permanently or expelled from it for as long as they wish.
